Galloping into the Year of the Horse with Creativity and Joy

As we welcome the energetic and auspicious Year of the Horse, the MSocSc(Pop&PA) and MSocSc(SDA) Programme Offices organised activities designed to bring together our students and instructors in celebration. These activities aimed to foster creativity, cultural appreciation, and a sense of community as we look forward to the year ahead.
The festivities began with an engaging Rubbing Art Workshop, where participants created their own festival rubbings using templates featuring the lucky character “福” (Fu, meaning “good fortune” in Chinese) alongside other auspicious phrases. This hands-on activity provided an opportunity for students and staff to express their artistic talents while deepening their connection to the rich cultural heritage of Chinese New Year.
To further share the festive spirit, the Programme Offices prepared special red gift boxes for our students and instructors. Each gift box was filled with thoughtfully selected snacks and a personalised handwritten note ─ a small yet meaningful gesture to convey our collective wishes for health, happiness, success, and resilience in the coming year.
Happy Year of the Horse! We look forward to galloping forward together as a vibrant and united community!
