The Faculty was delighted to welcome members of the Bachelor of Social Sciences Class of 1985 back to HKU and the Faculty of Social Sciences (FOSS) for a sunny afternoon of reconnecting on October 11. The reunion began with greetings at the HKU Senior Common Room, where Professor Paul Yip, Associate Dean (Institutional Advancement & Knowledge Exchange), extended a warm welcome and shared recent developments in the Faculty. Alumni then enjoyed a scenic walk around the Main Campus and Centennial Campus before gathering at the Faculty of Social Sciences for lively conversations, shared memories, and many smiles.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Class of 1985 for coming home to HKU and FOSS. Their return is deeply cherished. We are proud that our alumni contribute to the community and take on leadership roles across diverse industries. Such moments reaffirm education’s enduring purpose: to cultivate talent and drive meaningful societal change. As we uphold this mission, we remain dedicated to pioneering innovative teaching and learning approaches, ensuring HKU FOSS graduates are prepared to lead and serve in an ever-evolving world.
