From Impact to Insight: Showcasing Student Achievements Across undergraduate and Master Programmes

The Faculty of Social Sciences recently celebrated student excellence across both undergraduate (UG) and Master (MA) programmes through a series of vibrant academic showcase events, highlighting impactful learning, research achievements, and community engagement.

From April 29 to 30, the Faculty hosted the SIGC Impact-Storytelling Poster/Video Presentation Conference 2026, featuring over 110 undergraduate students from the Social Innovation and Global Citizenship (SIGC) Internship Programme. Through posters and video presentations, students shared insights from their hands-on experiences addressing real-world challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including health and well-being, gender equality, and sustainable cities. The event fostered meaningful dialogue among students, community partners, and academic tutors, reinforcing the value of experiential learning in driving positive social change.

At the postgraduate level, the MSocSc (Social Data Analytics) and MSocSc (Population and Policy Analysis) programmes marked the culmination of the academic year with Capstone Project Poster Exhibitions and Celebration Dinners. Students showcased rigorous, research-driven work, demonstrating strong analytical skills and thoughtful engagement with pressing social policy issues at local, regional, and global levels.

The celebrations continued with joyful dinners bringing together students, instructors, and supervisors to recognise their achievements. Highlights included interactive sharing sessions and a time-capsule ceremony symbolising aspirations for the future.

Together, these events reflect the Faculty’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible global citizens equipped with both practical experience and academic excellence. The Faculty extends its heartfelt congratulations to all students for their outstanding accomplishments and thanks all partners and colleagues who contributed to these successful initiatives.
