The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is pleased to introduce the inaugural cohort of the HKU-PKU Dual Degree Programme in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE). Starting this September, these distinguished students will engage in a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum, spending two years at Peking University’s Yuanpei College and two years at the University of Hong Kong. Congratulations to these talented individuals as they embark on this exceptional academic journey, developing into future leaders and critical thinkers through the unique opportunities offered by this prestigious programme.
This dual degree programme highlights the commitment of the University of Hong Kong and Peking University to academic excellence and international collaboration, preparing students for leadership roles in a dynamic global landscape.
A Unique Cross-Regional Educational Experience
Designed to promote interdisciplinary knowledge and cultural understanding, this programme offers an unparalleled international learning experience. Students will begin their studies at Peking University in Beijing, immersing themselves in China’s political, philosophical, and economic systems. The final two years will be spent at HKU, where students will engage with Hong Kong’s vibrant social and cultural landscape. An optional fifth year at PKU is available for those interested in pursuing advanced studies, such as an MPhil or PhD in Mainland China.
Academic Excellence and Prestige
Students who successfully complete the programme will earn two esteemed degrees: a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSc) from HKU and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from PKU. This dual qualification not only enhances students’ academic credentials but also broadens their career prospects across Asia and beyond.

On September 4, the Faculty held a special luncheon to honour Kent, Harry, Vincent, and Marcus, our very first group of students of this dual degree.
