SIGC and Career Development

The Social Innovation and Global Citizenship (SIGC) internship programme offers students hands-on experience with Community Partners, fostering practical skills and awareness of social issues. Alongside gaining insights into pressing social challenges, this flagship initiative enhances career development by providing opportunities to develop workplace competencies at every stage of the internship journey.

Pre-Internship

The internship application process mirrors real-world job-seeking experiences, involving application submissions, interviews, and assessments. Pre-internship training equips students with essential skills and knowledge, while goal-setting efforts ensure they define clear objectives to maximise their learning opportunities during the internship.

During Internship

Support is provided by both workplace supervisors and Academic Tutors, guiding students as they navigate their roles. This real-life workplace experience enables students to hone their competencies, bridging academic theory with practical application in a professional environment.

After Internship

Post-internship debriefing sessions facilitate reflection on personal growth and learning. Interns are encouraged to assess their experiences, update their resumes, and set new career goals, ensuring continuous development and preparation for future opportunities.
