Faculty Launches First Executive Training Programme for Emerging Professionals

The Faculty of Social Sciences extends its commitment to talent development through executive education. The newly established Asia-Pacific Academy of Executive Management (APAEM) has recently concluded its inaugural programme – the 2025 HKU Public Administration Training Programme.

“This programme marks a new chapter for our faculty, blending academic insights with real-world perspectives, and brings together people who share a common dedication to the public good,” remarked Professor Fong, Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning), in his welcoming address.

Over five immersive days, 22 young professionals engaged deeply with essential concepts and emerging insights in governance and policy leadership. The curriculum was further enriched by practical site visits to key public and private institutions at the heart of Hong Kong’s governance landscape, including AVESCO, HKMA, ICAC, and LegCo, among others. APAEM gratefully acknowledges the hospitality and support of our institutional partners, which contributed significantly to the success of these experiential learning opportunities.

One participant shared, “The outstanding team of professors delivered cutting-edge insights. Observing government institutions first-hand made Hong Kong’s governance remarkably tangible and relatable.” APAEM is dedicated to providing world-class executive education in social sciences disciplines and to developing innovative solutions tailored to the evolving needs of both public and private sector organisations.
