The University is committed to recognising exemplary academic excellence, nurturing rising stars and young talents and honouring acclaimed scholars.
The donation will form a permanent endowment at the University, and the annual interest from the endowment will support the incumbent’s research and academic activities in the endowed area.
Endowed Professorships and Outstanding Young Professorships will bring recognition and prestige to candidates as well as benefactors.
The “Outstanding Young Professorships Scheme” represents the University’s commitment to nurturing rising stars and young talents. An Outstanding Young Professorship will be awarded to an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.
The Professorship may be perpetually named in honour of a donor, corporation or other honouree(s) as recommended by the donor. An Inauguration Ceremony will be held in honour of the donors and the Outstanding Young Professors.
The Outstanding Young Professor will carry his/her full title on all occasions, including stationery, business cards, academic publications, news and international interactions. The donor will be kept abreast of the academic achievements of the Outstanding Young Professor, who will have close personal contact with the donor.
