The Faculty of Social Sciences congratulates Ms Doris Leung, alumna of HKU’s Master of Journalism programme and Founder and CEO of Diamond Cab, on receiving the inaugural HKU Impact Award 2026 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to inclusive transportation and social entrepreneurship.
Presented during HKU Innovation Week 2026, the HKU Impact Award honours members of the HKU community who have successfully translated knowledge, research and innovative ideas into meaningful societal and economic impact. Among the four inaugural award recipients, Doris was recognised for pioneering Hong Kong’s first licensed barrier-free taxi service for wheelchair users, improving accessibility and mobility for people with diverse needs.

Since founding Diamond Cab in 2010, Doris has championed accessible transportation and inclusive services, helping to create a more equitable society while demonstrating the power of innovation with purpose. Her work reflects the Faculty’s commitment to nurturing socially conscious leaders who drive positive change in their communities.
