The Dialogue Series: Lunch and Learn

Lunch and Learn is a talent-focused career engagement and networking platform designed to accelerate students’ professional growth and expand their career horizons.
Set in an informal luncheon environment, this stream connects FOSS undergraduate students directly with experienced industry professionals. Through face-to-face interaction, students gain practical knowledge, unvarnished career insights, and a clear understanding of industry expectations and professional pathways.
Beyond career advice, Lunch and Learn serves as a powerful networking incubator. It provides a rare, low-pressure space for students to practise their relationship-building skills and expand their professional circles, while allowing industry guests to connect with the next generation of top talent.
📍The Format
- ▪ The Room: An intimate, 90-minute luncheon connecting FOSS students and industrial professionals.
- ▪Atmosphere: Informal, welcoming, and inquisitive. It is a dedicated space for students to ask real questions about career pathways and industry expectations.
- ▪ The Cadence: Monthly sessions running from October 2026 to March 2027.
- ▪ Location: Senior Common Room, 14/F, KK Leung Building, HKU
- ▪ Charge: Free

Participation as an industry guest is currently by invitation only. If you are an experienced professional interested in connecting with our students in future sessions, we welcome you to reach out to our External Engagement team.
For FOSS Students:
To ensure quality interaction and high-value networking, seating is strictly limited to 10 students per session. You can view the upcoming industry themes, full session details, and submit your application via our dedicated registration page. Announcements for each month’s session will also be shared via Faculty student broadcast emails.
