Social Data Practitioner Workshop Series: Turning Data into Actionable Policy: From a Public Policy Research Perspective
Β
The second workshop of the Social Data Practitioner Workshop Series, organised by the MSocSc (Social Data Analytics) Programme, was successfully held on March 28 (Friday). We were delighted to welcome our distinguished speaker, Mr. Victor Kwok, Deputy Research Director at Our Hong Kong Foundation and our MPA alumnus.
Students gained invaluable insights into how data analytics can be applied to identify social issues and shape actionable policy recommendations. Victor shared his expertise on key topics, including analysing education trends and workforce talent mismatches, leveraging survey data to understand stakeholder perspectives, and applying data visualisation techniques to reveal funding gaps, spatial patterns, and pathways.
Special thanks to Victor for sharing his expertise and inspiring participants with his thought-provoking session. We look forward to continuing to equip our students and the community with the tools and knowledge to make a lasting impact through data-driven approaches.
