The MSocSc(SDA) Programme recently celebrated the conclusion of 2024-25 academic year with two key events: the Capstone Project Poster Presentation and the Celebration Luncheon.
The Capstone Project Poster Presentation, held on May 6, 2025, showcased the students’ year-long efforts in applying social data analytics to address pressing real-world challenges. Projects ranged from “the impact of social vulnerability on disease transmission” to “study of happiness and life satisfaction in Sinophone societies”, “investigation on emotion-guided perceptual decision-making” to “women’s labour participation in China” and more. The event provided an engaging platform for intellectual exchange among students and instructors.
The celebrations continued with the Celebration Luncheon, where Professor Tarani Chandola, MSocSc(SDA) Programme Director, addressed the inaugural cohort with words of encouragement and pride, commending their dedication and accomplishments. The luncheon was filled with joy, camaraderie, and shared laughter, reflecting the strong sense of community fostered within the Programme.
As the first cohort of the MSocSc(SDA) Programme embarks on their next chapter, we wish them every success as they leverage their expertise to shape the future of social data analytics.
