Gold Prize
KAUR Harmanjit, BSocSc Year 4 [Community Partner: The Zubin Foundation]
“This photo is from an elderly workshop at Zubin Family Centre, organized with Food Link. I eagerly helped attendees learn to make healthy granola bars. A favorite moment was working with a sweet elderly man, despite the language barrier. We bonded over gestures and laughter preparing the granola. Seeing his joy assembling his snack was heartwarming. Intergenerational initiatives promoting healthy habits and cross-cultural connections are so crucial.”
Silver Prize
YAU Lok Hei, BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB Year 4 [Community Partner: World Vision Vietnam]
“It was taken on the last day of the internship. It was a bittersweet moment. To be frank, we all know that might be the last chance to meet one another in our life, but we decided to teach them “See you again”. Even if we cannot meet in person, whenever we recall the memories of this summer, we will always “see” one another’s smiley faces.”
Bronze Prize
LAW Cheuk Heng, BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB Year 3 [Community Partner: World Vision Vietnam]
“We took a group photo in a heart shape on our last teaching day. If we speak from heart to heart, language barrier will never be a problem. I did not realise that this goodbye waved at the time entails a life-long goodbye. But we will meet again, when I revisit the trail of memory ingrained in my heart.”
Popularity Prize
CHEUNG Min Hong, BEd&BSocSc Year 4) [Community Partner: Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants]
“During my internship at the Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants, I participated in the 40th Peoples’ Cordillera Day in Charter Road, which was co-organised by the Abra Tingguian Ilocano Society. The Cordilleran migrants, who are the indigenous people in the Philippines, embraced their heritage and amplified their struggle for rights with cultural presentations and traditional dances. Above all, there was a sense of transnational solidarity manifested by the community dances.”
