Excellent and Inclusive Practice Award 2024-2025

Congratulations to Dr. Daniel Marwecki, Honorary Lecturer at the Department of Politics and Public Administration, for being awarded the Excellent and Inclusive Practice Award 2024-2025!

This prestigious award acknowledge Dr. Marwecki’s exceptional contributions in supporting students with disabilities and SEN conditions. He truly embodies the values of equality, respect, and social inclusion on our campus. His dedication to addressing the challenges faced by these students sets a shining example for us all.

Dr. Daniel Marwecki
I am honoured to receive the Excellent and Inclusive Practice Award this year. Since joining HKU as a lecturer in 2020, I have focused on creating a teaching environment where everyone feels respected and supported. I have quickly learned that Hongkong students are exceptionally smart. Some of them are also rather stressed. Indeed, the past few years have not been easy.

I believe that academic success is closely tied to students’ mental and emotional well-being. That is why I have consistently worked to ensure that no student who might benefit from HKU’s counselling services is left behind. I also encourage my colleagues to make student health and support a part of their teaching approach. Together, we can continue building a university culture where care, kindness, and understanding are not only present in our pedagogy, but embedded in how we engage with our students and each other.”
