Calling all FOSS alumni! Are you ready to make a meaningful impact and inspire the next generation of professionals? Join us as a mentor and share your valuable knowledge and experience with eager minds. FOSS Mentorship Programme The HKU Faculty of Social Sciences (FOSS) Mentorship Programme has been designed to strengthen the FOSS community by pairing alumni with students who are seeking guidance and support. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to share your personal experiences and industry knowledge with the next generation of Socientists. You will also have the chance to connect with other mentors, mentees, and industry professionals, making a positive impact on the faculty as a whole. Through this programme, mentees will receive valuable support and guidance from their mentors. Mentees will be able to refine their personal or career goals by gaining real-world insight and practical advice from their mentors. Timeline October 2024 Mentor online application for alumni opens from October 18 to November 25, 2024 November 2024 Mentee online application for students opens from November 1-25, 2024 December 2024 In-person interview for student mentee applicants is scheduled during December 2– 6, 2024 Early January 2025 Mentor and mentee will be informed of the matching result January 22, 2025 Evening Mentorship Kick-off Ceremony at HKU Late January to June 2025 Industry Sharing in different areas e.g., government sectors, social work, psychology, human resources, NPO, NGO, entrepreneurship, technology, communication, media, etc. Meet-up(s) based on the availability and interests of both mentor and mentee, e.g., networking drink, company visits, etc. Mentor Application Form Mentee Application Form  

Launched in Summer 2024, the inaugural Global Bay Areas Impact Lab programme by SIGC engaged 17 students in a learning adventure across the world's largest Bay areas, centred around the theme of social innovation. The 8-week programme included workshops, visits and internships across various leading social impact organisations in the Greater Bay Area, a field trip to Tokyo Bay, and a virtual seminar with San Francisco Bay Area.
