CASI Sustainability Forum Explores Inclusive Climate Transitions in Asia

The CASI Sustainability Forum was held at The University of Hong Kong on September 11, 2026 under the theme “Shaping Inclusive Transitions in Asia: Enhancing SMEs’ Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change.” The event brought together more than 370 participants online and in person from the policy, financial, business, academic and development sectors to discuss how sustainable finance can support climate resilience and inclusive transitions across Asia.

Co-organised by the Global Society and Sustainability Lab (GSSL) under HKU’s Faculty of Social Sciences, together with the Capacity-building Alliance of Sustainable Investment (CASI), the HKMA Infrastructure Financing Facilitation Office (IFFO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the CFA Institute, the forum provided a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange among stakeholders from different sectors.

Professor Ming Wen, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at HKU, delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting the importance of collaboration across academia, industry and policy sectors in addressing sustainability challenges and advancing inclusive development.

The forum featured discussions on sustainable finance, climate adaptation and social resilience, with speakers exploring innovative approaches to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), strengthening climate resilience, and promoting equitable transitions towards a low-carbon future.

Held during Hong Kong Green Week, the forum contributed to ongoing regional conversations on building more resilient and sustainable communities through cross-sector collaboration.
