We were honoured to have Dr. Winnie Law, Deputy Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ccsg.hku.hk\/en\/about-us\/\">Centre for Civil Society and Governance (CCSG)<\/a>, lead the tour. Alumni learned about the history and culture of the local villages, the revitalisation initiatives and related research launched by the Centre, and the broader societal significance of these Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme under the Countryside Conservation Office.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the day, alumni were introduced to various areas in which the Faculty of Social Sciences is making a tangible impact, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00b7<\/span> <\/strong>Village rehabilitation for nature conservation, community well-being and educational purposes<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00b7<\/span> <\/strong>Regeneration of agriculture, including agroforestry cultivating mixed crops and ginger and coffee production<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00b7<\/span> <\/strong>Community-based socio-economic models\u2019 development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These initiatives, which have received UNESCO recognition, highlight the Faculty\u2019s role in revitalising Hong Kong\u2019s heritage and community life.<\/p>\n<p>The visit formed part of the Faculty\u2019s ongoing efforts to curate meaningful alumni activities that share its research, partnerships, and social
